"I took a heavenly ride through one silence
I knew the moment had arrived
For killing the past and coming back to life"
- Pink Floyd in Coming Back to Life.
Its been a break of sort for me from the blog. In fact my last post got me some "is everything OK?" mails and msgs from my well-wishers. :) I didn't mean it that way. Just that it was a Monday morning and then somehow I got caught up in work and life.
I actually thought of writing something last night, but then in Bangalore virus of laziness is spreading like bird flue in some north-eastern states. It rains or not, it is too sleepy and then I am having cold too. Let me assure you it was a casual leave [ and so please no more are-you-OK or get-well-soon msgs accepted].
Monica Bedi is ready for an entry and confidence is oozing out from her face. One of the reporter asked her "Are you planning to work in Bollywood or Hollywood movies?" Now someone please go and tell that gentleman that
One: Abu Salem does not rule Hollywood so there is no chance for her there.
Two: Abu does not rule Bollywood anymore, so there is no chance here too.
Three: She is not a hottie anymore [she never was].
Four:Go and do some useful work
[as I write this, I know from deep inside my heart that none of the above will actually happen and we are bound to see Monica in a movie or two. I wont be surprise if a movie comes out on her love and life with Abu. Given that, I still pray to god, Please Please Please, I wont be able to see a item number with her. Please]
A respectable minister in Karnataka has issued a statement saying implementing Total Prohibition in state will be a difficult task with challenges coming from inside the cabinet itself. I salute this minister. At least he accepted the presence of liquor nexus in the cabinet. Comments from Mr. Mallya are still awaited. Imagine Bangalore without Pubs and liquor shops. So much real estate will be freed in markets and commercial areas. Imagine!!!
For your trivia: Gujrat is a dry state and still you can find any type, brand of spirit in state.
Another one: When Arreck ban was implemented, state lost so much of revenue. What is the number this time, it will be a figure to see.
Food for thought: Will it help in anyway if selling liquor is banned in state. Will the roads improve? Will there be no floods, will there be no power cuts. Will there be no dowry harassment? Think think think...
In another interesting news, Kareena Kapoor has grabbed a 6kr deal for acting in three films. Did i use word 'acting'??? See we Indian have so much money to waste on non existing things. Remember what is called a white elephant??
Too much to handle these days. News is that Himesh is already flooded with offers to ACT in films. Sachin has learnt to express more nowadays. India has got a lady president and that Oz police is getting caught in their own trap. CIA is amazingly proving again and again that Mr OSAMA is in Pakistan and still US is not able to do anything.
Jaane kya hoga rama re...

i like the way you've given the updates...news with views (even i'm afflicted with the corny naming virus)
but anyway, the way people and the media exploit each other throws up questions about how much revenue rides on waves of sympathy..on the pretext of touching emotional chords and presenting the humane side of stories, the media ridicules human intelligence..and there are people everywhere who are willing to do anything to come in the news..
I bet shilpa shetty is delighted that she was subject to racial discrimination because it turned out to a golden goose for her..imagine being awarded a doctorate degree because you're an object of sympathy...All this makes me more determined not to sympathize at all...those who really want to grow as human beings do not need sympathy; they need a little help at best, but not sympathy that makes people feel good about themselves..
Most of us don't help others because we sense that our help can help them relaize their potential.. we do so to feel good about ourselves.. doctors secretly hope that there are epidemics so that their business flourishes; social activists scout for issues to rake up so that they can be known in the public spheres as giving humans..this is the lowest we can stoop to
ouch the above one hurts..but i am not sure i believe that good work never gets done..true..most of the time the ones who do it are too busy to see it gets known or talked about...and i totally agree sympathy kills. and political waves are entirely built on this.
its time for people like you..and satyajit and me and others to look beyond the media haze for what things really are.
but i really dont know the difference between what symapthy means and what satyajit rightly points out it has really come to be..
in any case.but dont you think a lot of them who whet around the sceptic list are a little too lost in it themselves..to be unable to extricate themselves out of their own undoing? i should sure hope so...
